Matthew 28:7 NIV
For those of you who know me or those of you who have read me for a while, you know my biggest passion is to get others to find what God has called them to do. I want others to honestly say, “Use me, Lord” and mean it. This morning I noticed something in the scripture of Jesus’ Resurrection that goes along with this.
When the two Marys were headed to the tomb the morning of the third day, they met an angel of the Lord. He, of course, started with his typical, “Do not be afraid,” because when the earth quakes under your feet and an angel of the Lord whose appearance was like lightening materializes in front of you – you ARE afraid. So this angel prefaces what he has to say with don’t be frightened. Then he tells them to “go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead.” They do, by the way.
But… on the way they run into Jesus himself. You can imagine the hugging and kissing and worshipping going on at this time. Then Jesus himself tells them to “go and tell my brothers.”
The next thing we read about is Jesus meeting with the disciples where He gives them the Great Commission.
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
Have you seen the common denominator yet? GO!! The angel told it to the Marys, Jesus told it to the Marys, and then Jesus told it to His disciples. I’m going to let you in on a little secret. We are His disciples. In other words, Jesus is telling you to GO!
Go where? Do what? That is what you and Jesus need to figure out. Pray about it. Ask God to reveal to you what it is that He would have you to do. I can guarantee He will not call you to sit on a pew, sit on the couch, or sit at your kitchen table. He will call you to go in His name and bring others to fellowship with Him in some way, form, or fashion.
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you need to get some things in order first. Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father. But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” Matthew 8:21-22 NIV God will equip you right where you are. Just follow where He is leading you.
My friends, Jesus is alive! Proclaim it, but don’t stop there. Go! Follow where He is leading you. You will not be sorry that you did. I promise you that! So this Easter as we celebrate new birth and spring, let Christ spring out of you and be ready to follow wherever He leads.
Friends, I’m getting off of my couch, and I am going because He leadeth me!
Lead on, oh King Eternal! What a talented group and it’s such a blessing to see them using their gifts to serve the Lord.
Have a glorious Resurrection weekend.
Michele

This post spoke to my heart. We cheat ourselves out of so much joy when we want to go our way instead of His.
Beautiful!!! 🙂
Go! I like that.
Beautiful song.
Blessings,
Angela
Wow on the video! Those young ladies are destined to greatness!
Amen may we get up and go!
I love this song too. Sometimes we don’t want to go but go we must. I just read a post recently that someone wrote about sitting at a traffic light and getting the same message from God. Thanks for joining in! Will miss you in the morning. Have fun at your mom’s house.
Oh this was wonderful! Its hard sometimes to discern what it is the Lord has specifically called me to. Being a mother of 3, homeschooling and being involved in church keeps you pretty busy. You wonder if this is a calling in itself? You wonder where the balance is you know? I teeter between guilt of feeling like I’m not doing enough or I’ve missed the mark to feeling I’m exactly where I need to be doing exactly what I need to be doing.
Any how…Happy Easter, beautiful song and my God bless you greatly!
this touched me…thanks for sharing
It’s always good to go when God says Go because if we don’t it usually leads to some kind of trouble. I always feel like God is saying “see I told you you should of listened to me in the first place.” “So when I say go, just “Go!”
This was just a perfect ending to this day! Beautiful words and what a chill bump moment when those sweet girls started singing!
I just came across your blog, and as you “say”, “It was a God thing!” >:0) I absolutely love it, and I hope you don’t mind me sneeking in from time to time to get a wonderful heaping of God from it. >:0)
Blessings to you and yours!
