Sought

May 6

As long as he sought the Lord, God gave him success. 2 Chronicles 26:5 NIV

seek – attempt or desire to obtain or achieve, past tense – sought

God is still speaking to me about seeking Him. I’ve realized it’s not something we do once and then find Him.  We need to do it daily.  At the beginning of each new day, we should seek the Lord.  This morning, this verse from 2 Chronicles stood out.  It wasn’t until I copied it in my journal did I recognize “seek” hiding in there.  The past tense of seek is sought.  This is a powerful verse.
Take some time and reflect on the words of this verse.  Are you looking for success?  I know how to find it.  Seek the Lord.

How very key are those words “as long as”. God blesses and finds favor with us “as long as” WE are doing our part. It’s not that He doesn’t want to at other times, but He is waiting on our obedient heart.

Oh, and thanks for the pin and prayer!!! I will keep it in view everyday.

I still remember that picture Beth Moore used of the Israelites having to get up from their tents to go outside to gather the manna daily. They had to be proactive or else they would starve. This reminds me that I must continually seek Him to be fed and for Him to reveal His heart to me. Thank you for bringing this back to me.

I have fallen away from seeking Him daily and I was ok for a while. But lately I’ve noticed that I need refueling and nourishment. I cannot give unless I am filled, and I know I need to seek Him daily in order to do that.

You always give me such good things to ponder and reflect on. Am I truly seeking Him daily? And when I see what He is desiring of me, do I obey?

    Thanks for your prayers!
    Blessings, sweet friend!

I check your blog, daily, and am always so amazed at how God uses you to speak to my heart. This is a great verse. Thank you (and thanks be to our Father) for giving me such an inspiring message to reflect on.

I agree with this. To seek the Lord is so important. If we don’t he may be lost to us. Great reminder.
