Y’all have heard me talk about the funny things Colin tells us after church. He always pops up with nibblets of information, inquisitions, or stories in the car. It’s as if the view of the streets blurring through the window triggers some part of his brain to open – the well of knowledge.
Playing Cars
Jun 10This Sunday we were rushing to buy printer ink after church. As we pulled into the parking lot, his well opened and the following conversation splashed out.
“Mommy, you know how I play cars?”
“Yep.”
“Well, is that what God does?”
“Huh?”
“You know, does God like reach his big hand through the clouds, but you just can’t see it because He is invisible, and move all our cars around like toys?”
“Kkshchmg” (me trying not to snicker) “Are you asking if God reaches down to move our cars where ever it is we are going?”
“Yes. Like He maybe hears us say we need to go to Best Buy, so He pushes us there.”
“No, buddy. God is so good that He lets us make our own choices, even when they are bad ones. And we get to drive our very own selves.”
But, hey, wouldn’t that be cool? Next time you are in traffic, you could just say, “Hey God, could you lift me up and over?” He can’t really lift us up and over the traffic, but He can lift us up and over some hang-ups in our lives. Is there something you need lifting over? Just look up and ask!
How cute. Don’t I wish God was in control on the road. You should see how people drive here in Honolulu. God is probably having a hard time watching us drive out here. I think I like Colin’s idea.
So funny. I wish God would push His hand through Heaven and send my car around town! I hate driving!
Too cute.
Thanks for your comment on WI. I’m so blessed; now I’m just waiting for a publisher to decide to pick it up!
Love your blog!
Sure wish he WAS driving…then I wouldn’t have backed into a pole and been rear-ended within 2 weeks!
🙂 HA!!!!

Love this one! I really love the way he thinks!!!
You know, considering how I deal with travel, I totally wish his idea were the truth. I would loved to be pushed exactly where I need to be. The Big GPS in the Sky!
