The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.  With the kids jingle belling.  And everyone telling you “Be of good cheer”… The radio spilled Christmas tunes into the car as we headed out for some early Christmas shopping.  “Mommy,” my son asked, “If Christmas is Jesus’ birthday, then why do we give each other presents?  Shouldn’t we give them to Him?”  

I sat poised with the answer of how the Wise Men brought their offerings to Christ, and God presented us with the greatest gift in Christ.  So, in effect we give gifts to each other to honor Him.  But something about the last part of that question haunted me…
