Women of Faith – Worship

Jul 13

Do you know what story I love? It boils down to this one verse – David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the LORD with all his might. (2 Samuel 6:14 NIV)

It’s the story of David bringing the ark of God back to the city of David. It was a long journey to get there. And when the men carrying the ark finally arrived in the city, David, the mighty warrior king, danced before the Lord.

2 Samuel 6:14 tells it all, we learn what David was wearing – a linen ephod. (That is right up this girl’s alley. If you are going to tell me a story, be sure to tell me what everyone was wearing.) David wasn’t putting on a show. If so, he would have been wearing his royal robes. Instead, he wore the typical clothes befitting a priest.

So David, wearing his linen ephod, is so excited the ark of the Lord has returned to the Israelites, he dances with all his might before the Lord. Don’t miss the “with all his might.” David wasn’t just bopping his head along with some trumpets, he was all out bustin’ a move.

And friends, if David had a cd boom box, I can assure you he would have been blasting Women of Faith’s new Worship cd.

I just received a copy from Women of Faith to review, and it doesn’t disappoint. I highly recommend it to everyone. There are ten songs on the cd, and each one will bring you to worship. Some will have you dancing and bustin’ a move like David (Glorious and Just Wanna Say); others will have you kneeling at the foot of the cross (Healer and Lead Me to the Cross).

All the songs are sung by the Women of Faith Worship Team. Their vocals are excellent. I love the harmonies these women share. I love to listen to worship music on my iPod and in my van with the kids. This is one we have listened to over and over.

I can’t help but crank up the volume when I hear Glorious. So, if you are at a red light, and you look over and see a thirty-something mom bustin’ a move and singing along to some worship music, honk and wave. It’s me.

You can listen to a clip of each of the tracks on iTunes, and you can also buy the whole cd HERE. But if you aren’t normally a mover and a shaker, and you find yourself dancing with all your might – don’t say I didn’t warn you.
