“Please, ‘ttention – ‘ttention, please.” My two-year old rocked back and forth holding my bookmark like a microphone, politely asking for my “attention.” I grinned at her, continuing to the fridge to refill her sippy cup.
“Mommy! ‘ttention, please!” Grace’s plea became a demand. I turned to face her.
“You want my attention?”
“Yes!” She grinned, holding her bookmark microphone up high. That’s when I saw it. Displayed across the marker that holds my place in the Bible were the words –
The Lord is my light and salvation – whom shall I fear?
Psalm 27:1
Chuckling, I whispered to God, “Okay, Lord. You have my attention.”
What are you facing today? Could God be trying to gain your attention, too?
Great post!
So sweet. Also, about the guns above. If you don’t give them guns, they’ll pretend a stick, a bottle of windex, a book, etc is a gun. Boys want guns. We just have to handle it responsibly, and give what is age appropriate. Glad I found your website. Your profile on twitter was really funny! Holly Michael
You are so right. When my son was really small, I said we weren’t buying play guns and he made them from Lego’s and blocks. I finally gave in and realized that’s how God made them. 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
