Hiding God’s Word

May 21

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11 NIV

Can I brag for a minute? Colin earned his Sparky Award last night in AWANA. It’s a culmination of three years of work. Over this three years, he has memorized 165 verses from God’s Word. Some he can quote you easily; others he has definitely “hidden” somewhere in his heart. But I’m holding onto this verse and hope that when he needs them, Colin will be able to pull those verses from deep in his heart so they may give him direction.

Hmmmm…. I don’t think he memorized anything about not taking the wheels off of his skateboard or not holding the Mexican Jumping Beans over an open flame so he could watch them jump.

Do you have a favorite scripture, or perhaps you remember one from childhood you’d like to share?  I’d love to hear it.

Love you all!

I just discovered how to find a person that comments on my Blog. I’m still learning about this computer thingy.

I’d ask you why you love Jesus, but I don’t have time to sit for a spell. I’m just glad that you do. Fortunately, our peace comes from knowing about His love for us, instead of depending on our love for him.

I hope you kept your car horn quiet today as you locked it up??

Woo! Congrats on the award. That is just awesome. Train up a child in the way he should go….

My favorite scripture is Rejoice in the Lord always. My childhood wasn’t so great, so now I try to always find SOMETHING to rejoice about. 🙂

    Congrats again.

    Wow!!! 165!!!! Awesome!!! 🙂

How exciting to think that those Words…no matter how hidden they may be at this moment…will not return void!

Hmmmmm…favorite scripture. Right now I am praying Ps. 143:8-10 almost daily! I love how His Word is a lifeline to us!

Blessings, sweet Carol! And tell your little man I said “way to go!”

    Carol,
I always think it is appropriate to brag on your kids. I think God does it with His kids all the time. Doesn’t that just make you feel good to know that God gushes on us?
    Congrats Colin!

    Have a great Memorial Day!

Congrats Colin! Way to go. Awesome job!

    My faveorite verse…..
My husband and I experienced a second pregnancy loss this past December. Very soon after, the Lord revealed a verse to me, through a Beth Moore study (Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent)that spoke volumes to my broken heart. While I had heard this verse before, I never fully grasped the importance of it's meaning until then.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

This is my favorite verse because, through it, God lifted me up when I didn't have the strength to do so on my own. It helped to remind me, through thick bitter grief, that God had not been the cause for my pain and suffering. Praying that Jeremiah 29:11 touches someone else's heart the way that it has mine. >:0)
